About
Rodwin tells the true story of getting hired to write a musical about the history of Miami. To be staged on a boat. Owned by a Russian oligarch. Produced by a guy who sold timeshares. What could go wrong?
Hold tight as Rodwin takes his boss’ horrifying humor and spins it into gold. Who will win the death match between Californian culture and Floridian worldview? No one on a boat.
Rodwin shares his unexpected love affair with the history of Miami and finds comedy gold when he discovers its founding fathers were rabidly anti-Semitic. (Seriously funny stuff there!) Things get personal when his research shows his great-grandfather was one of the 'Binder Boys' who fomented the 1920s Florida land rush that made the 2008 financial crisis look like child's play. From drag shows and opera to a gold-plated Wolly Mammoth, this show's got everything. Don't miss this hysterical portrait of America and find out how it got the way it is.
“There are very few edgy storytellers with his gifts out there right now… Masters of the form like Spalding Gray and Eric Bogosian...
David Rodwin deserves to be mentioned in such company”

And no, the eye patch isn't a costume. And David isn't a pirate. He's got Thyroid Eye Disease, the same affliction that gave the comedic actor Marty Feldman his eye popping look (remember Igor from Young Frankenstein?) David can only hope it makes him as funny as Mr. Feldman, but the disease is no joke.
